All That Money Wants
Even though it’s been a while since my last post, not too much has been going on that would warrant its own post, so here comes my weekend, because you can’t sleep at night… Friday, rather than going to XPN, I took placement tests at Temple…there was a math test, an English test, and a foreign language test…math and English weren’t that bad, but the foreign language (Spanish, in my case) was pretty rough, considering I haven’t taken Spanish in more than a year…I even stopped going to Spanish Club because Simone didn’t get to be president…So I made it through about half of the Spanish questions and then gave up…partly because it was of no use to keep going, and because it was the last part of the test, and I wasn’t going to sit there for another 45 minutes looking at a test that wasn’t going to change into Enlgish any sonner than I was going to suddenly become fluent in Spanish… After the tests and an afternoon relaxing and regaining my sanity which was drained by said tests, Dad and I went to Monster Mania in Cherry Hill…you may recall a post from a while ago with some of my older FezSpotting pictures, well it was the same show, in the same hotel, but with some different people and different vendors…I got my picture taken with Tony Todd, who you might know as the Candyman from the movies of the same name, or as the “Shake-y Guy” from the show ‘Smallville’…he was a really nice guy, and he and Dad and I had a really cool conversation about normal stuff…it’s a shame how the majority of the people at the show and at other, similar shows treat the celebrities…it’s as though they aren’t even people…but they are: they go to their jobs just like you or I go to ours…So he was really cool, and here’s the proof:
We met up with Matt Luxich and Will Courtney, who used to work at Pep Boys with Dad, and we walked around the vendor area with them…they are really cool guys…Matt is an artist, and a damn good one at that…he gave us prints of one of his drawings, which can be seen with plenty of other great artwork here…Will is also an artist, but I don’t have the link to his website (if he indeed has one, that is)…I bought two things: an eyeball magnet (how could I resist?) and a shirt of the movie ‘Phantasm’, because Angus Scrimm (who was the monster/villain) was a really cool guy when I met him, and I have an action figure of him on my desk…A bunch of people commented on my Fez, and on my Cramps shirt, and on my shoes…it was a lot of fun Saturday was a normally boring day at Zerns…Caitlin told us that she is going to be leaving within the next few weeks, which is a real shame, because business sucks, and she is one of the things that makes going to the store worth while…oh well…next week is our Coke Festival, which I sure hope generates some good business… Sunday was Uncle Mark and (now Aunt) Christine’s wedding in New Jersey…it was a pretty good time…Caitlin (not from the store, the other Caitlin) was my date, and she made the day a lot of fun…That is to say, she took the edge of off spending a day with my family, who have become even more nuts that usual for various reasons…I won’t tell you what those reasons are, since odds are you wouldn’t even believe me… Today was another first day for a Programming Intern at XPN…Melanie, who is going to be working through the Summer started today, and she seems very nice…I think she’ll do a good job, even if she can’t format a script by herself on her second day (right, Lynn?)… That’s it, go home!
