Pink Cafe Latte
Well, I told you that I would tell you about my orientation at Temple Ambler, little did I know that this wold be the first post that I make from my new laptop computer…It’s totally cool, and I already have all of my music on an external hard drive that I keep plugged in all the time…I got it all…AIM, Skype, iTunes…still need some programs, like Quark and PhotoShop…all in all, I am very happy with it…
So Temple had a two day, one night orientation…not only did get I to learn more about the school, and meet a bunch of cool people who are going to be in my class, but I got to choose which classes I’m going to take in my first semster…I have five classes total: English, Math, Music History, a Broadcasting class, and an Anthropology course…the Anthropology class is one of two classes that I have to take in order to fulfill my foreign language requirement…I’m really looking forward to it, because I think I picked really good classes…I also organized my schedule so that I wouldn’t have any classes on Friday…That will give me a chance to work at XPN, or do something else, I’ll see..
I also saw the Spankers last week, at World Café Live…they were pretty good…It was the first time that we have seen them since they started amplifying themselves and their instruments…I really liked them before they made this change, because there really wasn’t anything that could go wrong, since there were no eletrical things to work with…well, when we saw them last week, there were a few times when microphones stopped working, and I felt really bad for them…Also, this was the fewest band members we have ever seen in the band…there were six, but they were all still really good…they did a bunch of new songs, ,some of which from an upcoming kids album…I’m looking forward to that, because what they played sounded reaaly neat…
That same night, Gene Shay had a fella named Pat Wictor on his show…I saw Pat open for BR5-49 at Sellersville Theatre last year…I talked to him after the show, and I told him about how I am just learning how to play guitar, and how I really want to learn to play slide guitar, which is how Pat plays…well, I told Pat about that this past week, and he gave me his phone number and e-mail address so that I might want to have him teach me a “Super Dobro Lesson”, where he gives me enough learning material to last months (he can’t really meet with any student too frequently, since he is a touring musician)…
Today, I helped out with a Special Producer session at XPN…the guests were Los Lonely Boys, and man, were they a pleasure to work with!…the brothers Garza were some of the nicest people that I’ve worked with so far, and they were very happy to be there…Sarah says that she has some pictures with me and them in the frame, but I didn’t get to have my picture taken with them like I did with Cheap Trick, because there were a lot of people who outranked me (i.e. David Dye and Roger LaMay) who wanted pictures with the boys…it was a lot of fun, and I look forward to hearing more from their new album…
My cel phone died…I got a replacement, but I have to put all of my numbers into it, as well as ringtones and graphics…please excuse my silence if I don’t answer my phone for a bit, since I’m not so sure how to work my new one just yet…
that’s really it…if I forgot something, you’ll never know

Lyric of the Time:
And it’s such a crime
How they waste their time
They can’t get nowwhere
They’ve all gone Beat Crazy
