“I believe it was our most horrible yet!”
October 31st 2006 by E..
Happy Hallowe’en, everyone!…as if it really needs to be pointed out, but Hallowe’en just so happens to be my favorite holiday ever…so up yer nose with a rubber hose, Arbor Day (I get the feeling I’ve used that line before, but you didn’t hear that from me…)
I’ve got some catching up to do, so here goes…Friday, Sean Lennon (yes, that Sean Lennon) came to d the Free At Noon concert…he was okay…all of his songs sounded the same, and I didn’t even get a chance to talk to him, let alone have my picture taken, so I guess I could put him on my list, though it really wasn’t his fault…that night, Dad and I went to pick up my bass at Frankilin Mills’ Sam Ash, and then went to go see “The Prestige” at the movie theatre there…the movie was really good, and well written and impossibly clever (and David Bowie is really good in it, too!)…when we left, as Dad says, we took a good long look at Franklin Mills, because we would never be going there ever again…the place is a dump, the people are rude and inconsiderate, and it offers no services that cannot be obtained at places that are in far better shape…see ya, Franklin Mills…don’t let the door hit ya on the way out…
Saturday I actually went to Zerns…partly because I wanted to be there for the Hallowe’en weekend, but also because I needed the money…got all dead and also dressed up in my Jack Skellington costume for the Trick or Treaters who came through the market…one girl ran up to me (whilst I was in the costume) and said “I love you, you’re so hot” and gave me a big hug…it made me think…’maybe I should wear this thing more often’…Really early Sunday morning (like around one of the 1:00’s that happened that day), the fine folks at VH1 were going to show “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”…now, I knew that they would have to edit it for time, some language and some brief Little Nell scenes towards the end, but what I saw, I neer would have expected…
I turn on VH1 at exactly 1:00, and I see what appears to be the end of a commercial for some original movie that they are going to air next month…it’s a spoof of 80’s movies (alright, VH1, we get it, you loooove the 80’s…geez!) in the vain of “Scary Movie”, “Date Movie”, or, dare I say it, “Scary Movie 2″…turns out that it wasn’t really the end of the commercial, but the middle of an extended promo…at the real end of the spot, a screen came up that said that they are joining a program already in progress and that flashed to the scene of Brad Majors and Ralph Hapschatt talking in front of the church…now, I’ll give you a few second to think about that…ready?…okay…WHAT THE CRAP!?!…if you are going to cut into the first 5 minutes of any movie, why pick the one movie that has one of the most famous opening parts of all time??…you wouldn’t do that to “Star Wars” or “Raiders Of The Lost Ark”, would you?…VH1 might say that they don’t mind, because it was shown so late that not enough people would be watching to really care…hello, anybody home??…find me another movie that is more likely to have lots of people watching in the wee small hours of the morning than “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”!…that’s part of the appeal!…idiots…
Speaking of idiots, got back from math too late last night and hardly gave away all of my candy…if you would like some, come knocking, but be wary of the sign: “No Costume, No Candy!“…maybe that’ll teach you damn kids…luckily, there was a party in Bright Hall after the trick-or-treaters left…unfortunately, it was not Hallowe’en type music, and the only Hallowe’en song he played (”The Monster Mash”, no less) cleared the dance floor…as if that wasn’t enough…I went to request “The Time Warp”, a song I have heard at non-Hallowe’en dances, and the guy didn’t know if he had it or not…in the end, I had to sprint back to my dorm, burn him a CD with “The Time Warp” on it, and run back…by that point, the place was all but empty, but I danced and sang anyway…I hate stupid DJ’s…they should all be more like
