We Read The Papers Everyday
As you may have guessed, the Free at Noon with The Polyphonic Spree was nothing short of unreal…on their records, the impact of a band with so many people is often lost, but in concert, it’s astounding…they performed mostly new material from The Fragile Army, and during the last song, Section 32 (The Championship), they got the audience to sing along with the closing line (which, like most of the Spree’s songs, repeats a whole bunch of times until the end)…as we were singing, members of the band left the stage groups at a time…after four or five groups had left, I noted how funny it was that there were still eight people on stage, more than most other bands that I have ever seen…after the show, I got to meet Tim DeLaughter, who is a very nice guy…he signed my poster and I gave him a whole bunch of Eric buttons…Erin gets people to sign her name tag, so I got him to sign that, too…
Dad decided that we had to go to Willow Grove Mall that night, so I decided to have Erin come along as well…three days later and I’m still not entirely sure why we had to go to the mall, but whatever…FYE moved to a new, smaller location that’s perfect for an even smaller selection of records than they previously stocked…oh Tower Records, what have you done??…
Saturday, I decided to go to the store, which, if you haven’t heard yet, is closing some time soon…after lots of years in business, we’re retiring, so get yer goods while you still can…oh, and everything is 50% off…that should give you a reason to haul out to Gilbertsville…
I’ve become the senior production assistant on The Folk Show, and I’ve got so many things to do for Y-Rock, it’s ridiculous (in a cool way)…things to do this week: pick potential winners for the HD Radio Giveaway, tally the votes for and assemble the Weekly 11, be on the air this Thursday from 4-8 pm…at least/most this Friday will be a day off…
Aside from all that, nothing much is happening (which is silly to say, because all the things that I just mentioned are, in fact, happening)…I guess I just need to find the next big thing…or maybe curl up into a ball and listen to Joy Division…
Oh, and I can’t wait to go to Disneyland…so there…

Lyric of the Time:
Having been some days in preparation
a splendid time is guaranteed for all
And tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill
