Let it be known that, henceforth, nothing shall ever again be ‘presented by Subaru’
That said, this year’s Festival was a pretty good time…though I was not so totally enthused with the lineup (there were around 50 bands of which I was excited to see about 4), I still had fun in el sun…I spent most of the Festival back at XPN’s studio, manning the control board so that they could broadcast live from the Festival grounds…It’s a good thing that I both get paid for that and brought stuff to do (just so you know, the 33 1/3 book about The Stone Roses is a very interesting read)…Some of the standout performances were brought to us by Fountains Of Wayne, The Fratellis, Dr. Dog, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Robert Hazard, and Fionn Regan…odds are that any of those folks who have not been featured in a Friday 5 as of yet will likely be soon…
That said, I’ll make up for my lack of a Friday 5 this past week (try doing anything after seeing The Fratellis tear it up) by giving a double dose this Friday…
Pictures from this weekend can be found here…I know, it’s mostly Dr. Dog and Fountains Of Wayne, but can you really blame me?…no, you cannot…
I’m going to be filling in for Rob Wilcox on Y-Rock this Wednesday evening at 5:00 eastern…Rob is currently on tour with his outfit, By Surprise! (I prefer the exclamation point, thanks)…I’ll also be on for my regular shift this Friday at 3:00…
In addition to running the board (I got to talk to Marc Broussard through the closed-circuit talkback before Matt Reilly interviewed him on the air), I got to do some breaks with Joey O. on Y-Rock’s airwaves (they were also broadcasting from the Festival)…
For those of you who may not have heard or read about it, there was an incident (not weather related, for a change) on Saturday night…the full story can be found in a few places, but WPVI has a video of their report…I was trying to find a video of their follow-up report for Sunday, because they showed Dr. Dog performing and you can clearly see Erin and I standing in front of the stage…Everyone is okay, only a few people sustained minor injuries…it was flat out weird above everything else…
So, because I apparently have enough free time, I started an account on Last.fm, the most low-maintenance of all social networking sites (that means no Facebook, Emily)…go find me and see what weird crap I’ve been listening to…you may be disappointed…
I’m trying again with the elusive moustache…I doubt I’ll get much further than I did last time, but oh well…
Only 22 days until my birthday/going to California day…hooray!

Lyric of the Time:
Chelsea Chelsea I believe that when your dancing
Slowly sucking your sleeve
That all the boys get lonely after you leave
And it’s one for the Dagger and another for the one you believe
