Not just a good idea, it’s the law…
December 30th 2007 by E..
Okay, so here’s what happened:
As my people have been doing since the dawn of time, Mom, Dad and I went to the movies on Christmas Day…we saw “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street”, as we are all big fans of Tim Burton, Johnny Depp and lavish musicals (the last one, maybe not all of us)…I’ll preface this by saying that I have a thing with movie theaters…namely, I don’t like them very much…often, I’ll be distracted by the movie and forget about the theater itself, but I have many times gotten anxious feelings to the point of having to leave the theater for air (see: “Grindhouse”)…
Some time through the movie, I started feeling dizzy and nauseous…this theater (in Plymouth Meeting) was particularly warm, and I wasn’t feeling very well…I decided to go get some water, maybe freshen up and such, so I got up and walked out of the theater…unfortunately, as soon as I got outside the theater door, I couldn’t see…blame it on a rush of blood to and/or out of my head, or something of the sort (what am I, a doctor?)…in an attempt to keep myself from falling over, I held on to the corner of the wall outside the theater door…apparently, I didn’t do a very good job of holding on, because the next thing I know, I’m flat on my captain’s quarters with my back against the opposite wall…I’m not sure if I fainted or if I just couldn’t see during the fall…at any rate, my head and back (and butt) hurt real bad, and I cracked the outer screen on my phone (as it was in my back pocket)…I felt a little better after just sitting there for a few minutes, after which I went back in to enjoy the rest of the movie (which was really good)…when I got home, I had some tea and Excedrin, the traditional Christmas treat…
Day 134 - December 25th, 2007

So that’s that…I fell a lot better now, but it made for a weird evening…
On Wednesday, I went in to XPN for a shift on Y-Rock…in addition to hosting the Old School Punk Rock Nooner, I got to record the Wednesday Concert Calendar update…it was a lot of fun to do that, and I even got to hear it on the Y-Rock on XPN show later that night…also that night, we went to get 2008 calendars; a sure sign that 2007 is dead on its feet…as soon as we walked in to Barnes & Noble, I knew which calendar I wanted…
Day 135 - December 26th, 2007
I’ll probably get an XPN calendar, too, since I’m finally in it (a very tiny picture of me and Robert Drake appears in, of all months, August)…
On Thursday, Mom and I went to the DMV with the intention of getting me a replacement photo ID…somehow, I misplaced mine on our way back from California this summer…unfortunately, the DMV’s extended hours on Thursdays are not for photo ID’s, so Dad and I went back this morning (more on that later, naturally)…Mom and I met my grandparents at the Abramson Center, where my great-grandmother lives…they were having a New Years party for the residents there, and it’s always great to see my GG…I also saw a few people that I went to school with who also have family living there…I used to go to the Abramson Center with Good Vibrations back in high school, and it was always very enjoyable…I doubt if there’s anything like that at Akiba (or whatever it’s called) anymore…
Of course, I didn’t have my camera with me, so I took a picture of a few Hershey Kisses instead…
Day 136 - December 27th, 2007
I was back at XPN yesterday, and since the office was technically still closed, it was rather like a ghost town…I learned how to do some more stuff in RCS, the program that we used to automate the station…I put together a Best Of 2007 Sonic Session Shuffle, which you can hear tomorrow morning from 9-11 eastern on Y-Rock…I also did a lot of my work on my laptop from the Y-Rock Studio, while Jess Cross was on the air…I chimed in during her live breaks, which was a lot of fun for the both of us, as the general consensus is that being on the air is a lot more fun with a friend…during my show, I unleashed The Decemberists‘ “The Tain” on the unsuspecting radio public, and the tune served as my year-end gift…speaking of gifts, Joey O., Y-Rock’s music director, left me a Boxing Day gift…you know how I know?
Day 137 - December 28th, 2007
Turns out, it was a copy of The Chemical Brothers‘ album Dig Your Own Hole…I look forward to teh oontzin’ beats…
Today, as I mentioned, Dad and I went to the DMV to get me a new ID…we also went to get some office supplies and to stop into Five Below…Five Below had Mr. Men and Little Miss buttons, which was thoroughly awesome…the reason I needed a new ID so quickly is because on New Years Eve, Mom, Dad and I are going to the Atlantic City House Of Blues to see Elvis Costello and the Impostors…it should be a rockin’ time, though anything would be more rockin’ than Elvis‘ performance at the Mann earlier this year…
Day 138 - December 29th, 2007
I’ll post the playlist for my Y-Rock show soon, but it’s round about time for dinnerfoods…

Lyric of the Time:
I’m still in love with the Beatles
I was in love with the Stones, no satisfaction
I was in love with Bobby Dylan
Because I’m in love with Rock’n'Roll
