Modern Rock Mod

With the obvious exceptions of the time spent at XPN and my new hairdo, my Spring Break was not all that interesting…Not even taking my own advice that I gave in an article that (just) ran in the Temple Ambler newspaper, I didn’t even go to any special events in Philadelphia…I did, however, spend a lot of time reading two books for my Jewish Studies class…that class, as you’ll remember, is focused on antisemitism and the Holocaust, so you can imagine the nature of the memoirs I read…apparently, I have poor judgement in selecting bookmarks…instead of using a ticket stub like usual, I used my new B-52’s bookmark…

Day 214 - March 15th, 2008 Here's your stupid 7-Up

I guess if there’s something mildly inappropriate to do, I’ll do it…seriously, though, the books weren’t all that bad, and I recommend the other book, Judith Isaacson’s Seed Of Sarah to anyone looking to read a Holocaust memoir…

Sunday, Mom, Dad and I went to the Monster Mania show in Cherry Hill…I’ve been to several of these shows, but this time we didn’t get too many autographs (due in part to the hefty price tags)…in fact, we only ended up with two: Jennifer Rhodes, who played Penny “Grams” Halliwell on “Charmed” and Malcom McDowell, best known as Alex in “A Clockwork Orange” and H.G. Wells in “Time After Time”…

Day 215 - March 16th, 2008 Viddy well

He seemed like a pretty nice guy, even if he wasn’t at all interested in wearing the Fez…he did say, though, that I looked better in it that he would…

We also didn’t really buy too many things from the marketplace at the show…almost all the things we got were of the pin or button persuasion, though I did pick up a few prints from a very talented artist named Jim Horwat

Sunday night was Celtic night on The Folk Show…Gene’s guests was a supergroup of sorts made up of members of various bands in Philadelphia’s Celtic rock scene (which is bigger than you might expect)…even though the music of The Pogues was not represented, it was still a jolly good time…

Yesterday was our first day back at school…there was a mandatory lab meeting in Intro to Radio (we listened to my DJ break assignment in class!), and at the back of the room, an electric organ sat mysteriously against the back wall…

Day 216 - March 17th, 2008

Everybody's dancing to the Farfisa beat

I’m pretty sure that its owner is a hockey player…

With midterms behind, there are only a few more weeks until this year is done…that means that Project 365 will be ending before you know it!…of course, there seems to be no shortage of ridiculous things to take pictures of…take for example something I saw today at the little cafe inside the Learning Center’s lobby…

Day 217 - March 18th, 2008

Put a peephole in my brain

I realize that I promised a News in Brief last week…well, I’ll get on it right now!…better late than never!

Lyric of the Time:
In the supermarket there is music while you work
It drives you crazy, sends you screaming for the door
Work there for a year or two and you can’t get to like it
I don’t work in supermarkets anymore
