Every Player, Every Coach

As it turns out, I’m not eligible to get a new cell phone until the end of July…I guess it really depends on who’s helping you at the AT&T store; if they’re going to go out of their way to help you or if they’re going to take the easy way out and tell you to come back later…naturally, we got the latter…Dad and I went from there to Willow Grove Mall, where the Disney Store is closing (I think I mentioned that before)…what little is left is marked down severely, and that includes all of the newly-produced merchandise featuring Oswald The Lucky Rabbit…we got a whole bunch of these canvas prints of Oswald (we were told that many people were buying them to use as canvas to paint over)…I’m not sure what they were originally priced, but after about a 94% discount, they came out to be $1.00 each…

Day 310 - June 19th, 2008

You're lucky, lucky, you're so lucky

Total Disney-age…

On Friday, it was no use trying to get in to see Carly Simon’s Free At Noon performance…there were some strict rules about who could go where downstairs before during the performance, but none of them really applied to me…still, I find it really funny how people can come into a building for a less-than-one-day event and all of a sudden people who actually work there aren’t allowed to go certain places in the building without credentials…oh, this business…

Later that day, after my Y-Rock shift, Mates Of State were in to record a World Cafe session…I met them about two years ago when they came to, um, record a World Cafe session (then for their album Bring It Back)…back then when they signed the studio wall, their first daughter, Magnolia (they have since had another), was sitting with pianist/singer/mother Kori and was scribbling on the wall…on Friday, she was sitting by herself, coloring in where they had signed last time…it was totally adorable…

Day 311 - June 20th, 2008

I know it's impossible, but you should try to shake it off

I had a stupid little conversation with the Mates about how I like their new album, Re-Arrange Us…I was going to ask for a picture, but I didn’t want to distract them too much from their parently duties, and their kids were really in need of juiceboxes…

Dad and I went out to breakfast/lunch/dinner (all one meal) at the diner that we’ve been frequenting over the past year or so…warning: eating a pile of chocolate chip pancakes is like eating a loaf of chocolate chip bread…if that still sounds appealing, you may still want to stuff your head with caution…after we were full of pancakes, we went to Borders to use a gift card I have…naturally, there wasn’t really anything in the music section that was worth getting, but I did end up getting a book that I’ve had my eye on for a bit…

Day 312 - June 21st, 2008

I saw The Stooges covered with bruises/Who will save rock and roll?

From one of the writers of the greatest series of books ever (Amy Wallace of The Book Of Lists collection) and “The Handsomest Man In Rock & Roll”, comes this anthology of kooky punk rock-related lists…what could be better?

Today, Dad and I went to the Phillies game, where they lost (naturally), we had free ice cream (happily), and I was constantly poked and elbow-ed by the people sitting in the two seats next to me (confoundingly)…around the stadium are statues of beloved Phillies players, but only the statue of Robin Roberts is painted in an unsettling grayscale…

Day 313 - June 22nd, 2008

The anthem was playing loud/The baseball game was letting out

” src=”http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y146/bocapella/Project%20365/Day313-62208.jpg” />

Hmm…yeah, definitely unsettling…

Folk Show tonight with some sitar player that may or may not be Ravi Shankar…then again, name another sitar player…

E.

Lyric of the Time:
By the way she looked, I should’ve calmed down
I went too far
Oh, that’s all I’ve got to say
